Simultaneous determination of -sitosterol and lupeol from Scoparia dulcis L. by high-performance liquid chromatography

A simple, precise and accurate high-performance liquid chromatographic method has been developed for simultaneous determination of -sitosterol and lupeol in whole plant powder of Scoparia dulcis L. Chromatographic separation of the two drugs was performed on a thermo hipurity advance column (1504.6, 5m) as stationary phase with a mobile phase comprising ofmethanol : 0.1%O-phosphoric acid (90:10) v/v at a flowrate of 1.0mLmin-1 and UV detection at 210nmwith a run time of 20.0 min. The proposed method was validated for linearity, accuracy, precision and limit of quantitation. The validated HPLC method can be used for a routine quality control analysis and simultaneous quantitation of -sitosterol and lupeol from Scoparia dulcis L.
