New ruthenium (II) organometallics have been synthesized by using the precursor RuCl3(NO)(PPh3)2 with amide ligands. The tentative structures are proposed on the basis of elemental analysis, IR, 1H, 13C and 31P NMR spectral data. These organometallics were used as catalysts for the hydrolysis of rivastigmine tartrate and neostigmine bromide. The percent yields of hydrolyzed products of these drugs were determined spectrophotometrically.
