Gold nanoparticles deposited on surface-modified carbon xerogels as reusable catalysts for the activation of cyclohexane C - H in the presence of Carbon monoxide and water

Matt Hardy

The utilization of gold as a promoter of alkane hydrocarboxylation is accounted for interestingly. Cyclohexane hydrocarboxylation to cyclohexanecarboxylic corrosive (up to 55% yield) with CO, water, and peroxodisulfate in a water/acetonitrile medium at around 50°C has been accomplished within the sight of gold nanoparticles kept by a colloidal technique on a Carbon Xerogel (CX), in its unique structure after oxidation with HNO3 (-bull), or after oxidation with HNO3 and resulting treatment with NaOH (-bull Na). Au/CX-bull Na acts as re-usable impetus keeping up its underlying movement and selectivity for at any rate seven successive cycles. Green measurement upsides of molecule economy or carbon effectiveness additionally authenticate the improvement brought by this novel synergist framework to the hydrocarboxylation of cyclohexane.
