The main objective of the present investigation is to evaluate the anti-inflammatory property of Calotropis procera, Gymnema sylvestre and Hemidesmus indicus in Wister rats using the Carrageenan induced left hind paw edema. In the study it was observed that the aqueous, ethanol and chloroform extracts were significantly inhibit paw edema induced by carrageenan in rats. The ethanolic extract showed a significant anti-inflammatory property when compared with the aqueous, chloroform, standard and untreated control. Among the three tested plant species H. indicus showed the maximum inhibition in rats.
