The problem of water pollution in Rajasthan is serious due to the presence of excess of fluoride and nitrate in the ground water. The physico-chemical analysis of ground water samples (Sources such as-open wells, tube wells, hand pumps etc.) of urban areas in Bagar, District – Jhunjhunu (Rajasthan State) is presented in this paper. It is important from the point of view to observe the suitability of water for safe drinking and irrigation. Some important physico-chemical parameters like pH, total dissolved solid (T. D. S.), alkalinity, fluoride, chloride, nitrate, sulphate, total hardness (T. H.) were analysed in water samples. In two samples, it has been observed that parameters like fluoride and nitrate are having higher values as compared to BIS standards.
