Blend of Asymmetric Cyanine Dyes in Solid State

Hensley jones

Cyanine Dyes (CD) are an organic compound used in a wide range of applications, including photography and bioimaging. The most well-known features of CDs include high molar extinction coefficients up to 105 L mol-1cm-1 and absorption spectra spanning 500 nm to 1000 nm, which can be fine-tuned by lengthening the central methylene bridge or changing the terminal heterocycles. In recent decades, new synthetic methodologies have been developed to address the limits of traditional synthetic processes, such as microwave-assisted and solid-phase procedures. While the microwave approach reduces the amount of time reagents and products are exposed to heat, the solid-phase method provides for simpler synthesis procedures, resulting in higher yields and easier product purification
